Words Actually

"Just deeds are the best answer to injurious words. "- John Milton

Words, words, words....how freely we utter them, with little thought for the impact they might have on others. It's a lesson that I'm continuously learning. I've been on the receiving end of caustic comments lately....and it's been shocking for me, (and I am often unable to react) because the people delivering them seem so casual and blasé when they make their comments. I wonder if they're even aware of the mean-ness that underlies their comments....some of them are probably not!

I'm not gonna judge these friends of mine...cos I know that I have a pretty acid tongue myself, which I am constantly trying to restrain. But these incidents have certainly made me reflect, and made me more aware of the power of the tongue, how it's really an outflow of our hearts...just as the bible says.

Luke 6:45
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit of it.

It's tough being a christian eh? We have to be responsible for our thoughts, our speech, and let it be consistent with our actions......since we're all accountable to God. Our God is so beautiful, that when He speaks, He speaks love and life into our hearts. I pray He can help me to do the same, and be more like Him.

==============
Me: Are you staying for supper on Thurs?
Pam: I will be doing work lah...
Me: Huh? Until 10 plus pm? You got so much work meh?
Pam: Yah lah, we're LIVE you know. (referring to our new website). I got to do lots of testing.
Me: *sigh* You're so hardworking. Working on your summer holiday.
Pam: It's ok, I like working. *smiles*
Me: *amazed* HOW COOL ARE YOU???
Pam: *laughs*

But seriously, how cool is Pammy, my love? When the rest of us normal folk prefer bumming around, this super trooper finished her exams in Sydney on Fri...flew back to Spore on Sat, and then came in early for work at BMI on Mon!!

www.pandora.com

If you're a music-lover/ audiophile....you totally have to check out this AWESOME website!! I was absolutely blown away. www.pandora.com

Type in a song or an artist that you like, and it churns out/recommends loads more songs that are in a similar musical vein. It's like your personal radio station, geared to your specific preferences. You can manage up to 100 radio stations too....so you can try loads of diff genres.

It's a great way to listen more widely (without spending), and
discover new, obscure artistes along the way too. BRILLIANT!!!! Well, some of my current fav artistes are Rosie Thomas (obscure gal), Natalie Merchant, Paula Cole, and Beth Orton. Give them a listen on pandora when you get a chance. :)

Thanks to May and George for recommending this website. :) It's really like a 'pandora's box'....once u 'open', u get hooked and u can't 'close it'.

Cry Ophelia

It's funny how the heart tries to forget...
To eliminate, to shut out the unbearable.
But the curtain between reality and illusion
is still too thin.
The biting cold lingers,
drifts in stealthily...
Hits you in the chest when you least expect it.

Yet, the heart tries to forget.
Lest the mind goes wandering....

Return of my long-lost childhood friend....

Guess who my mum found while clearing out the store-room? :)

Alternate Title for Alias

Last nite, May and I were ranting about Alias again (yes, freaks tt we are!)....specifically about how depressing it was that Sydney Bristow had NO FRIENDS in Season 3. This was May's response: "good, she deserves NONE. she's a curse. everyone she knows DIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. heh heh hehhhh."

She's just upset that her fav character, Will, was pulled out from the show. heh! After that we proceeded to consolidate a list of characters who died (well, seems like nearly all of them had a turn! go figure.).....and RETURNED from the grave. Nobody ever REALLY dies on TV. Chey!
So May designed this pic in 'celebration' of our fav TV show. She came up with such a winner of a tag-line too.....i was in fits of laughter for the longest time.

Silly

You know that you're really tired and zombified when you try to open the front door of your house with your EZ-LINK CARD. heh! But that's not the end of the story....i then proceeded to struggle with the key, cos I didn't realize I was turning it the wrong way. Nevermind tt.....I later sent out an sms to M, when I really meant to send it to C. Sigh.

An Evening Stroll

I was taking a break from work, when i decided to walk to Thomson Plaza (or YAOHAN as some old-school pple still insist upon). You know when they storm out and say "I'm going out for a walk" or "I just need some fresh air" on TV.....and it seems totally ridiculous and unreal, cos nobody says that in real life. But the whole 'goin for a walk' idea is really quite refreshing...for me at least. Should do it more often....esp. since I am gonna be shifting soon. *sobz* I'll miss thomson!

So there I was....taking it all in. It was a breezy, peaceful, beautiful night....and I found myself talking to God, and hearing His beautiful voice during that little stroll. :) It was one of those "Yes God, it's just you and me" type of moments....just lovely. I had to make a mental note to myself, not to laugh and sing aloud in public. haha! This has happened quite a few times.....me giving strangers on the streets a little shock, as I like to sing softly on my way home. Well, it's late when I go home! I just kinda assume nobody's walking abt.

Anyway, God gave me many exciting ideas for the new syllabus...which was so absolutely cool, I was furiously typing them into my phone, so as not to forget. I'm so grateful, cos i've been hitting a writer's block, which can be so frustrating! Also felt prompted to pray for the Australians (ie. Pam and Audrey)...who are having exams, major assignments down under.

Then I suppose...by association, my evening stroll reminded me of my holiday in Sydney last Nov. Eunice and I spent many chilly nights, wrapped up in our warm jkts, walking around the city area. Of course, most of the shops would be closed at that time, except for eateries and Cole's (the huge supermkt),which we frequented almost every night. (and i was walking to Thomson Plaza to buy groceries, specifically Nutella,...hence the association lah.)

I really need to travel again man. Heh! I wld like to actually wear my pink Zara jkt! It's not been worn since i bought it last Dec (read.....temperate country!!).
