Chubby Bunnies and other nonsense
The silly things we do at BMI to amuse ourselves!! :) Everytime Thurs comes, most of the coaches will be in a very chirpy mood, and we will be yelling 'HORRIDAY!!!' (holiday) randomly every other second. Friday is our off-day you see. Today, Berno and I took the madness to new levels as we decided to toast marshmallows at the pantry. Hmm....not an easy task as you can see....cos we had to use chopsticks instead of satay sticks (caused huge holes in the marshmallows)....and we had to tip-toe as the toaster was quite high up. The marshmallows took quite long to melt too....and they refused to brown. bleahh! Oh well, still fun all the same. hehe! Pammy my love, if only you were here...we could coat the marshmallows with nutella!!
Danny was the one who bought the huge packet of camp-fire marshmallows....for no particular reason. It caused quite a bit of excitement in the afternoon. (I truly think we're just a bunch of kids) He taught us this game...where you are supposed to put one marshmallow in your mouth, keep it there, and say 'CHUBBY BUNNY'. If you can say it rather coherently, then you're supposed to put another marshmallow in your mouth. This goes on until you're just totally incoherent, your mouth has no more room...and well...until you literally look like a CHUBBY BUNNY. hahaha! I think it's such great fun. We had a good laugh over it. Steph, you should try this one out. haha!
Tues was also the birthdays of one of the keyboard coaches, Jasmine. And we pulled off a series of pranks on her the whole week leading up to her birthday. (Well, to be honest...Berno and I were just bored, and decided that it was time for another massive prank to entertain ourselves. Jasmine's birthday was just a convenient excuse. And we figured that taping up Jasmine's locker was just to0 predictable.) The whole idea was basically to take turns going up to her, to do really random and nonsensical things. Here's what happened over the week.
1) Danny went up to her, speaking french for a whole min. Even when she appeared perplexed and replied back, he would continue speaking to her in french, as if she understood. It's like watching your fav TV show dubbed in the wrong language. haha!
2) Wilson took a giant torchlight, and demanded to search her mouth for something he had lost. All the while, shouting out instructions in Hokkien.
3) Dorcas sternly asked Jasmine "why did you eat my cookie?". Jasmine protested of course, but Dorcas would insist "I know you ate it! Why?? It was the only one I had." After many rounds of 'interrogation', Jasmine truly started to believe she ate the cookie unknowingly and felt quite apologetic. We couldn't believe it ourselves! That was quite good acting on Dorcas' part
4) When Jasmine asked for a new work polo-tee, Isabel our counterstaff made her sign for upon collection which is the usual practice. BUT Isabel made her sign for it 5 times!! Jasmine asked Dorcas "how many times did you have to sign for your t-shirt?" Dorcas played dumb and said "err...Bel ask me to sign how many times, then i just sign lor." Jasmine then commented "I don't understand how come my signature just evaporates after each time I sign leh!"
5) This is the best one. Berno and I typed out this official looking letter (with BMI "Take it higher" logo and all) saying this:
"Dear Coach,
We are currently upgrading our security system to include voice recognition scans. We will need your assistance in recording the following sounds. Please hold each word for 5 secs, and speak it with a smile for the best results. Thank you for your cooperation.
Ah Eh Ee Oar Ooh
M b p k t"
Jaime, our secretary went up to her for this assignment, and to do the recording. I taught her how to pronounce the sounds (they came from my vocal manuals), and timed her for it. Jasmine suspected nothing, and did it soooo earnestly and seriously that we felt bad. We were laughing so hard. Danny nearly choked on his water while hiding behind the pantry wall.
6) Finale: Daniel Wilson went up to Jasmine with a very serious face (he is soooo gd) and told her that she had to memorise this password, because Josephine our executive manager would test her on it. He even explained, how we had no choice and all. The ridiculous password was:
"The eagle has landed
The ducks are infected
The chickens are flying
The penguins are laughing"
After much coaxing, she finally bothered to write it all down, and pasted in her locker.
Josephine then went up to her and asked for the password. But Jo insisted that there were 5 lines to it. Of course Jasmine didn't know the last line, so Jo told her to go and find out. It's supposed to be 'The phoenix has exploded".
We had the big 'reveal' on her birthday on Tues, and Jasmine finally pieced everything together. haha! We gave her flowers, pressies, a card to make up for all our mischief of course.
We are a bunch of kids....we are. :)
