It's funny how the heart tries to forget...
To eliminate, to shut out the unbearable.
But the curtain between reality and illusion
is still too thin.
The biting cold lingers,
drifts in stealthily...
Hits you in the chest when you least expect it.
Yet, the heart tries to forget.
Lest the mind goes wandering....
